BANDERA DE ESTADOS UNIDOS, YO NO TE SALUDO...

El 14 de junio de 1777, hace ya más de 244 años, nació la bandera de los Estados Unidos de América. En aquel momento histórico, los padres fundadores de dicha nación luchaban y hacían la revolución por la noble causa de la independencia y la bandera se convirtió en símbolo de lucha, de la esperanza de libertad, entonces no tan solo para las 13 colonias norteamericanas, sino también para todo nuestro continente americano.

Fue el año de 1898 cuando dicha bandera arribó en nuestra nación caribeña al son de cañonazos de guerra de rapiña estadounidense. En la isla fueron muchos los que se entusiasmaron por la liberación del reino español, y por los nuevos aires de libertad y democracia que ello supuestamente significaba y representaba. Sin embargo, aquel desembarco militar representó un cambio dramático para la Perla del Caribe: representó la imposición del gobierno militar, representó la arrogancia y el insulto a las instituciones isleñas, implicó la imposición de la depreciación de la moneda nacional; la eliminación de la pequeña burguesía, la proletarización general de la población, la eliminación de los pequeños agricultores y la implementación del monocultivo a beneficio del extranjero; representó la militarización estratégica de la isla en la defensa de los Estados Unidos, y la imposición de la ciudadanía no por motivos democráticos sino para obligar nuestra juventud a sus guerras.  Por más de 122 años la llamada "Old Glory" ha ondeado en nuestra tierra representando todos los males del imperialismo en el solo interés del capitalismo y del colonialismo estadounidense. 

A manos de ese imperio, entre otras cosas, Puerto Rico ha estado sometido a numerosas experimentaciones tales como las pruebas del agente naranja, la experimentación inicial de la píldora anticonceptiva y a la esterilización masiva de nuestras mujeres. A manos del Imperio y de sus alzacolas han desatado la persecución, asesinatos y la neutralización y al divisionismo sistemático de los movimientos nacionalistas; han usado la experimentación de la radiación a luchadores encarcelados, han implementado el uso de la neuro propaganda para desprestigiar la independencia y a sus activistas, y la persecución y carpeteo a quienes profesan la independencia. Han castrado enteras generaciones de futuros líderes del independentismo. Además, el imperio estadounidense ha ejecutado la política de la emigración en masas de boricuas usándola como válvula de escape al potencial de protestas debido a la condición económico-social; Han utilizado el instrumento de la emigración durante las primeras décadas de los 900 para suplir mano de obra barata al continente y más tarde para diluir el talento diplomado puertorriqueño en aquel llamado “melting pot”. 

El Imperialismo, durante más de sesenta años, ha hecho galas de la práctica militar con bombas vivas de la Marina de Guerra en Vieques y Culebra; Además, ha orientado la administración del país hacia la privatización y la semiprivatización, de nuestros servicios y recursos para el enriquecimiento de bonistas e inversionistas y ha mantenido las políticas de discrimen salarial. Ha impuesto leyes de cabotaje elevando dramáticamente el costo de la vida en favor de los intereses imperiales de productores y comerciantes y de la marina mercante estadounidenses; Además, ha desalentado el desarrollo empresarial puertorriqueño gracias a la imposición federal de las cláusulas de comercio interestatal; Es a manos del Imperialismo Norteamericano que hoy el país vive la mediocridad en la política y la castración funcional de todas las estructuras político-democráticas del país. Finalmente, el imperialismo colonialista ha demostrado no ser de buen corazón humanitario, ni solidario, ni fraternal, ni cooperativista. Para muestra con un botón basta, demostrado cuando el total abandono discriminatorio y el trato desigual ante el paso de huracanes y otras calamidades naturales sobre nuestro territorio nacional.

Así que, para los más conscientes, la presencia de la bandera estadounidense en nuestro archipiélago solo ha representado sufrimiento y dolor, humillación, mientras que, para los más inconscientes, producto de las campañas sublimes de neutralización y adoctrinamiento colonial, continúan a elucubrar  y soñar con cuentos de Ada de una democracia inexistente, tanto allá como acá, y se autosatisfacen  con narrativas imperiales al estilo de las de "Fox-News" y con las doctrinas coloniales con las que  nos atraganta el Departamento de Instrucción, el sistema escolar, y los medios de comunicación. 

No es nada de exagerado decir que, de sus 244 años de existencia, la mitad, durante más de 122 años, la bandera estadounidense ha servido como instrumento representativo del terrorismo ocasionado por el imperialismo capitalista-colonial en nuestra bella Isla del Encanto.

 

UNITED STATES FLAG I DO NOT GREET YOU ...

On June 14, 1777, more than 244 years ago, the flag of the United States of America was born. However, that military landing represented a dramatic change for the Pearl of the Caribbean: it represented the imposition of the military government, it represented arrogance and insult to island institutions, it implied the imposition of the depreciation of the national currency; the elimination of the petty bourgeoisie, the general proletarianization of the population, the elimination of small farmers and the implementation of monoculture for the benefit of foreigners; it represented the strategic militarization of the island in the defense of the United States, and the imposition of citizenship not for democratic reasons but to force our youth into their wars. For more than 122 years the so-called "Old Glory" has flown in our land representing all the evils of imperialism in the sole interest of capitalism and US colonialism.

At the hands of that empire, among other things, Puerto Rico has been subjected to numerous experiments such as the Agent Orange tests, the initial experimentation of the contraceptive pill and the massive sterilization of our women. At the hands of the Empire and its huntsmen they have unleashed the persecution, assassinations and the neutralization and systematic divisionism of the nationalist movements; They have used the experimentation of radiation to imprisoned fighters, they have implemented the use of neuro propaganda to discredit independence and its activists, and the persecution and filing of those who profess independence. They have castrated entire generations of future leaders of the independence movement. In addition, the US empire has implemented the policy of emigration in masses of Puerto Ricans, using it as an escape valve to the potential for protests due to the socio-economic condition; They have used the instrument of emigration during the first decades of the 900s to supply cheap labor in the continent and later to dilute the Puerto Rican certified talent in that so-called “melting pot”.

Imperialism, for more than sixty years, has made finery of military practice with live bombs of the Navy in Vieques and Culebra; In addition, it has oriented the country's administration towards the privatization, semi-privatization, of our services and resources for the enrichment of bondholders and investors and has maintained wage discrimination policies. It has imposed cabotage laws dramatically raising the cost of living in favor of the imperial interests of producers and merchants and the US merchant marine; In addition, it has discouraged Puerto Rican business development thanks to the federal imposition of interstate commerce clauses; It is at the hands of North American Imperialism that today the country experiences mediocrity in politics, and the functional castration of all the political-democratic structures of the country. Finally, colonialist imperialism has shown that it is neither a good-hearted humanitarian, nor solidary, nor fraternal, nor cooperative. For a sample, one button is enough, demonstrated when the total discriminatory and unequal abandonment in the face of hurricanes and other natural calamities on our national territory.

So, for the most conscious, the presence of the American flag in our archipelago has only represented suffering and pain, humiliation, while, for the most unconscious, the product of sublime campaigns of colonial neutralization and indoctrination, they continue to dream and dream. with Ada's tales of a non-existent democracy, both there and here, and they are self-satisfied with the imperial narratives in the style of "Fox-News" and with the colonial doctrines of the country that the Department of Education and the media choke them. .

It is not an exaggeration to say that, of its 244 years of existence, half, for more than 122 years, the American flag has served as a representative instrument of the terrorism caused by capitalist-colonial imperialism in our beautiful Island of Enchantment.
